Masks

I'm sewing protective face masks for a local appeal. Here's a link to the pattern and tutorial. To begin with I was working in groups of six, but that's a bit daunting. I find it better to work on three at a time. I can complete three from start to finish in one sewing session without feeling that I need to call in Rumplestiltskin.

  1. My mom has been sewing face masks for her retirement village. I'm glad there are patterns with ties now, as elastic is impossible to find!

    1. They’re not for me, I’ll be passing them on to folk who need them more than I do!

  4. Thanks for the link. I might give it a try later though it would be stretching my abilities as a beginner. I managed to make a couple of masks from a much simpler pattern yesterday, after not using a sewing machine since home economics class in 7th grade.

    1. The tutorial is pretty comprehensive so I think a beginner could manage it, though it would probably take longer than the stipulated half an hour.

  5. I've been making masks also. It is nice to feel like I'm doing something to contribute. There are so many patterns...hopefully they will all find good "homes".

    1. There are. I’ve even seen crochet patterns! Interesting, but too time consuming for bulk production.
