Two in One

It's a little puzzling that motif 14 is in the one shuttle section but requires two shuttles! It forms the centre of the next motif:
I must say that if I'd been picking and choosing motifs from The Tatted Artistry of Teiko Fujito, I probably wouldn't have chosen this one. But I really like the way it turned out. I think a darker thread shows the design off better than the pale thread of the book.

  1. Lovely motif, I don't have this book and it's on my wish list,

  2. Very pretty motif! I guess I haven't tatted much from this book because of the bare threads. When I have more time to be patient, I'll have to give it a try.

  3. I liked the top motif, but another round has just uplifted the whole pattern ! It has become "radiant" :-)
Your soft subtle hand-dyed colours are very soothing & elegant.

  4. Very nice, Jane! I like to see modern tatting that keeps looks like that little ring joining the chains in the center motif. It's the kind of thing that would have been done by tatting the little rings one at a time in the older patterns. That hen and chick edging has quite an impact as the outer round.

  5. It is beautiful, and the book, I do believe was printed a few years ago and some things would have be nice to redo the book nowadays. Its just that the designs are fantastic and fun to make and see.

  6. I'm glad you made it. It's quite pretty. There are several designs in that book that I wondered about the color choice for the model.

  7. They are both beautiful!!! :)
I really love the second one!! The outside round reminds me of baby's breath flowers. :)

  8. It is a lovely pattern. I don't do many bare thread patterns but they do look nice.

  9. I like this one very much as it boasts both onion rings and bare threads and I love both!
