Sewing

I've been sewing winter skirts. I don't know why it is that when I'm working on simple sewing projects I have a tendency to make stupid mistakes! I was so intent on matching the stripes on the second skirt that I sewed the seam wrong side together instead of right sides together. Drat. Nothing for it but to get out the quick-unpick. The red material on the side is the lining for stripy skirt. I lined both skirts to give them more weight and warmth.

  1. Your fabrics look very nice - could you have simply sewn the seam again, the right way so that the raw edges were then enclosed in a very elegant French seam?

    1. Crossed my mind, but there's a pleat at the bottom and I couldn't figure that out!

  2. I know if I'm aware that a project is difficult, I tend to concentrate, but if I think it's straightforward, I relax and often lose my focus. And that's when I make more mistakes.
Your warm skirts will be worth the extra time. Love the fabric.

    1. You're right! I'm sure that's why I make mistakes on easy projects.
