Right. Well. The friendly computer man says he doesn't know whether it's the battery or the computer itself that is causing a problem. Six months ago I thought I was doing 'the right thing' by replacing the battery. Perhaps not. Now the warranty has expired and another battery is too expensive to just install willy nilly in case it is the problem. I'm advised to carry on and hope for the best. Not very satisfactory, but there you go.
Computers can be such a pain!! Especially financially! Hope it gets solved soon for you! :)

Never trust anything that has to be switched on....rule of thumb, borne of hard-won knowledge which now serves me well. Good to see you back! - and I didn't know computers had batteries.
ReplyDeleteI can still read you, Jane!
ReplyDeleteTechnology is wonderful when it works, but probably the most frustrating thing I've encountered when it doesn't. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHope it all gets sorted soon. When I lived up at the lake, my phone and computer would stop working regularly, and then we had to travel to a pay phone or friend's phone to call the company to see what was happening. That lack of phone service was one reason why we decided to move.....so I understand the frustration of things not working as and when they're supposed to.......
