Fabric Galore

On our shopping trip last week, my daughter picked out these fabrics to take back to Australia with her. She's going to make a quilt with them. They're 100% cotton, printed in South Africa.

Penny carried fabric in the other direction too. Jack, my husband, commissioned her to find a fabric that I would really like. Splendid, isn't it?

  1. Splendid, indeed! I was fabric shopping a couple of weeks ago, and the lady in front of me had a cart filled with fabric that she was taking back to Australia to make a quilt. It must be the thing to do!

  2. What a funny coincidence! Yes, it must be the in-thing.

  3. That is what is so fun about visiting another country you always find something to buy that you can't find in your own. Having only sons they don't understand the need for such shopping! Just love the dragon fly material, in fact they are all great.

  4. It must be absolutely wonderful to share your crafts with your daughter! - I like all the fabric choices. But today in Brisbane it's suddenly freezing, so I came to your blog to see if you had begun knitting that wonderful handspun wool - I need to thaw out.

    1. Ah well, I had to spin the other half needed, and that wasn't terribly interesting. More of the same! I'll report on the knitting tomorrow.

  5. Yes it is a real treasure to have fabric, my husband likes to linger in the tool department, and I wonder if wanting the fabric is the same pull and desire for me it looks so odd to some one that doesn't get it. I have those dragonflies in gold color too:)
