Before Jess's parcel arrived, I thought that her sunrise thread might work well for Victat's rose pattern. I was right. It works wonderfully! I placed the roses and very small butterflies randomly on this food cover. ( I did say that Jane Eborall's butterfly was my favourite pattern, didn't I?)
Now I'm going back to practising clunies. I watched a couple of videos last night. I'm not sure they solved the question of why one section of my cluny is loose. But I did realise that I must take the weaving right down to the pinch to avoid having a space between elements.
You did and you're repeating yourself!!!!!! Just like me. I constantly repeat myself according to Nick!!! Is it something do do with the name 'Jane'?
ReplyDelete:-) could be! You'll hear it again, 'cause it really is my favourite pattern.
DeleteThat's so pretty - I'm glad you managed to buy your fabric in the end!
ReplyDeleteThis would also be the loveliest scarf if you we're to put an edging too. Gorgeous colors!
ReplyDeleteGood idea!
DeleteGorgeous!! I need to try that rose pattern, it's so pretty!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great pattern, very clean and modern and shows HDT off very well.
DeleteWonderful colours! Perfect.
ReplyDeleteFox : )
They are wonderful colours.
DeleteOh, lovely! I'm wondering why we don't have those nice food covers around here -- they're just perfect for a picnic. I think I'm going to look for some organza next time I go to the fabric store...
ReplyDeleteYes, they're very practical. Perhaps we can start a trend?
ReplyDeleteWow!!! So very beautiful!!! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work! How did you put the motifs on the fabric? Did you sew them on?
ReplyDeleteThank you. Yes, I sewed them on. On the back of the organza, I did running stitch that caught the back of the tatting, so it doesn't show on the front. Sometimes feels as though it takes as long to sew the motifs on as to tat them, though that's not really so!
ReplyDeleteI love the roses on the organza. When you attach them do you use thread that matches the organza? I'm wondering because things like that never turn out very well for me.
ReplyDeleteYes, I did in this case. Sometimes I use a thread that matches the tatting.
