In a good way, of course. The tomatoes in Jack's vegetable garden are ripening quickly. I've been cooking them up with onion, dried herbs et cetera and then freezing them in moulds. I line a small plastic dish with cling wrap, fill it with the mixture and then put it in the freezer:
Once it's frozen, I can take it out of the mould and use the mould again:
What a good idea to deal quickly with all your tomatoes. Wish I'd thought of it when we had a sudden glut of toms last autumn. I spent ages making chutney, which took ages but was delicious when finished!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to have fresh tomatoes in such abundance! The drought has depleted the supply here, and the floods finished off the rest of them, so, for the moment they are verging on being unaffordable.
