Think Shipping

I had a lot of help and encouragement in my endeavour to learn the basics of Hardanger embroidery, from people in my craft group, blog readers, on-line tutorials..... Thank you all! I have now finished the bookmark, mounted it as per instructions and attached samples of fabric and thread. Whatever the judges say (trust me, they are very hard to please!) I have learnt a lot and really enjoyed the project.

  3. Beautifully done, Jane! My book on Hardanger arrived yesterday. I haven't had a chance to sit down with it yet, but I'm looking forward to reading it. Thanks for the inspiration to learn about something new!

    1. I'm sure the book will be inspirational. There was a book reviewed not long ago on Mary Corbett's blog, perhaps that's it.

  5. This is a triumph, I love it. Never tried it myself simply because it looks so difficult to do.
    Wonderful, well done.

  7. Wonderful job Jane! I just had a look at some of your previous posts about this, and the process of cutting the fabric. Very interesting!

  8. I think it's beautiful. It's definitely a first prize winner whether the judges agree with me or not. The whole process is fascinating (and still a little scary - cutting threads and pulling them out....while hoping nothing comes loose in the process). It's lovely.

    1. It is daunting, the cutting. But then I thought,'It's just cloth, the world won't end' Snip.

  11. Thanks everyone. If the judges aren't impressed I'll think of the Abba song, 'I feel like I win when I lose'!

  14. It truly is beautiful. I don't see any errors. I learned a long time ago from a very good teacher. We used a book written by Janice Love (she authored several). If they are still available (and I have seen some of them at Nordic Needle) I highly recommend them. I saw that new book recommended by Mary Corbett. It is on my wish list.
