My triangle has come to a point too quickly. The pattern gives the space between decreases in centimetres, which I translated into rows, but clearly got it wrong. I will just have to unravel this and begin the front of my cardigan again. At least knitting is easy to undo!
Do you have to pull it all the way back? Hope not! At least you're a fast knitter :). Watching you knit makes me want to start another knitting project. Problem is I already have a WIP knitting project!
ReplyDeletePerhaps I can inspire you to finish your WIP then!
DeleteI really should finish my WIP - a shawl. Sadly I went on Ravelry and got distracted by all the patterns there :). Now I'm going to knit a cowl :).
DeleteIt sounds as though this pattern is asking for Higher Mathematics! - good luck with it, I will watch from the sidelines. If it's telling you to decrease according to centimetres, I think you will need a very accurate tension square to work it out. Then divide the centimetres per rows you get by the number of decreases, that should give you the formula.
ReplyDeleteYes, the theory is fine....
DeleteI think I might have done the same thing. At least you know how to fix it! I took apart a baby sweater yesterday. It should have been finished for Sophia a couple of years ago. I found my place in the pattern easily. After four rows of knitting I remembered why I had stopped... I didn't have enough of the yarn to finish it! I hope to go through my stash today and find a yarn that can be used as an accent. Luckily, I have time... the smallest size is 9 months and the babies are due in September.
ReplyDeleteI hope you can find the right yarn to finish it! I've done that, wondered why I hadn't finished something, and then remembered....
DeleteAnd it gives a sense of how it will look, gorgeous! I'm sorry for the undoing but at least with knitting it's faster. Make sure you go back to the right mathematical point though!
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame that it has gone wrong, the pattern looks nice, they can be very confusing sometimes. I like the cable design, the cardigan is going to look lovely.
ReplyDeleteThat triangle is lovely, hope you'll resolve the math part soon and go on, happy knitting.
ReplyDeleteOh....and you seemed to be off to such a fabulous start! I know you will have a wonderful cardigan when done!!! :)
ReplyDeleteOh no Jane I hope you can sort it, looks a nice pattern, like you say at least knitting is easy to unpick
