A Pair

I've finished knitting my Celtic Spiral socks, following Catherine Devine's chart, which I found on Ravelry. My fairisle in the round technique did get better as I progressed. There are some dubious needle changes at the beginning. It's not easy to get the gap between needles smooth without making it too tight. With a 'double' fabric of handspun wool and commercial sock wool, these will definitely keep my feet warm this winter.

  1. I wish they were mine! But you will need them, this winter. The long pair is magnificent!

  2. These are wonderful! I like the effect of making the second spiral a mirror image on each sock . I like knitting socks too, but only dead plain ones!

  5. They are beautiful! I almost bought some sock yarn and needles when out shopping the other day. I put them back on the shelf, because I already have plenty of sock yarn and needles, but I was tempted, all because of your beautiful socks!

  7. Wow! Those are just wonderful! I'm knitting a pair of Anna Zilboorg stranded socks . . . free-sole so that I can replace the sole when it wears out because that is a LOT of work for something that absolutely will wear out. I admire your lovely socks.
