An account of the craftwork I get up to, tatting, spinning, knitting, sewing, whatever

Warning!
Warning! Tatting this motif could be hazardous to your sanity. Here's a link to the pattern. Thanks to everyone who encouraged me to keep going with this. It's not perfect, but it's complete and I'm done!
It may be hazardous, but it sure is pretty! I just looked at the pattern, and I'm not sure I'm up to the challenge just yet. I know I'll have to practice split chains some more. Do you think that tatting in a solid color would make it easier for the first try?
Certainly you need two contrasting colours, 2 solid colours might make things clearer. I didn't use the split chains. It was better to do each round separately and finish ends. Otherwise, if you make a mistake on round 2, round 1 is affected too.
Absolutely phenomenal! Just spectacular! Wonderful colors, too. I know I've seen Martha's Celtic doily, but I don't think I've seen this heart pattern! Looking at the amazing instructions, I couldn't believe she designed this back in 2001! She was ahead of her time, and she and LaRae Mikulecky were blazing new trails - as did Ruth Perry (Rozelle Linden)! Love this!
Time for it to see the light of day again perhaps. I've done patterns where chains wind round each other before, but not where the rings actually interlink. Amazing work.
Oh now I see what you were doing, it made no sense to me when I first saw your last post. Looks great love the colours and thank you for the link the pattern Margaret
Wow! - congratulations for finishing it. I would have been totally overwhelmed by this pattern, I'm full of admiration.
