One Leaf Or Two?

I have another order for tatted lavender, 20 this time. I was a bit short of green on the shuttle on one stalk, so I left the leaf off. The leaf is definitely the most time consuming part of doing the lavender. I wondered if I should only do one leaf per bunch to speed things up a bit. Or does it look better with two?

  1. If you use just one leaf can you move it slightly further up and/or make it slightly longer?

    1. Thanks, I’ll look at that. It occurs to me that lavender is quite a leafy plant, so perhaps I had better not skimp!

  2. I would have no idea because I don't think I have seen real lavender, but either way, yours are both pretty!! :)

  3. Mmmmm. That's a design question. Do you need it for balance? Do you need 3 to fulfill the rule of 3? Do you need to worry about design on something this fun? I vote to just enjoy the journey and spread some beauty in the world. Fair 'nuf?

    1. I’m going with yes, it doesn’t matter that much and I’m sure the person who ordered them doesn’t mind either way!

  4. It looks nice with one leaf too. I'd ask the requester of the order for their preference, I guess.

    1. I’m going with two leaves, unless I’m short of thread of course. But I did move them up a bit, following Jane’s suggestion.

  6. All versions are probably beautiful in such a delicate pattern.
