Little Beanies

There's an appeal out for beanies for prem babies in  local hospitals. I took along some baby yarn and this pattern, which is clear and just one printed page, to the craft group and asked if anyone would be willing to take up the challenge. Sure, the keen knitters said, and got to work straight away. I think they like to be able to contribute to a worthy cause.

  1. Those are so, so cute. One of my crafty friends who’s 96 years young has knitted over 100 of these tiny beanies for our hospitals. They put red, orange or green bobbles on the top so that the nurses can tell at a glance which babies need more attention. Red is obviously for those who need a close eye kept on them. Love the colours of these.

    1. Oh that’s interesting. One of the knitters asked me about pom poms and I reckoned we’d leave them off.

  4. 😍 cute! Bravo ❤ here I know there is an association called "cuore di maglia", that has the same purpose - knit for premature babies. I didn't join but admire you.
