Butterfly and Flower
Of course it's not necessary to have a butterfly on either end of a bookmark. I tatted a spiral chain to join the poinsettia I tatted in June, using muskaan's pattern, to a butterfly. I tried Stephanie's tip of passing the shuttle in the same direction as the stitches every few half stitches, but I found it better to briefly roll the chain between my thumb and forefinger when I let the shuttle dangle. I think different things work for different people, it's certainly worth trying out different techniques.

Ooh! I like that one! I agree with you about techniques. There are some that look fantastic when others use them, but they just don't work for me.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your wise words and another cute bookmark 🌸🌸🌸🌸
ReplyDeleteFabulous!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI can't seem to get a spiral chain to work for me so I just tat a zigzag chain. Thankfully there are no wise professional tatters around here. ;)
It is tricky. Worth trying different methods. But, as you say, there are alternatives!
DeleteI love this one! I've never had success with spiral chains, they look so effective when properly done. Another Failed Tecnique, the list is growing.
ReplyDeleteGreat spiral chain (and wise words 👍)
