When I saw this bag on Pinterest, I thought it might be a good idea to use fabric bags instead of wrapping paper for gifts. I traced it back and found this tutorial by Paula Cheney for making them. It's clear and helpful, thanks Paula. The first one is for a baby shower I'm going to tomorrow. The bag is smaller than I visualised. In theory I could make the next one bigger, using the same principles, but I bought fabric with these dimensions in mind, so I'll have to see how it goes.
I also made a hat for baby in matching fabric:
I too love origami bags, they are so fun to make :) And the matching hat is a good idea, and so cute in that fabric! The recipient is a lucky babe :)
ReplyDeleteAdorable, such lovely gifts, the material is just right
ReplyDeleteCute bag and hat!! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful bag, and lovely fabric
ReplyDeleteI love making fabric gift bags. II learned of this Origami pattern from Diane at Lace Lovin’ Librarian for keeping her shuttle tattting projects in. Yours is adorable for a baby shower. Love the matching hat!
ReplyDeleteI love these bags also - I've made many, many of them for tatting, etc. but I never really thought about using them for gift bags. I need to start doing that, since one can make them any size. I use a little bit different pattern, but basically the same. Oooooh, I have some Christmas fabric . . .
