Jack found an enormous caterpillar in the yard a few days ago. It brought to mind a nursery rhyme I used to say to my children:
Little Arabella Miller
Found a furry caterpillar.
First it crawled upon her mother
Then upon her baby brother.
Folk said, 'Arabella Miller,
Take away that caterpillar'.
I think Wendy and I must be on the
same wavelength, only my caterpillar is not furry and hers is not a caterpillar!
That is a huge caterpillar! It reminds me of one that scared me half to death when I was a little girl. We lived in the city at the time. Who sees creatures like that in the city? Now I find them fascinating!
ReplyDeleteI remember my brother touching a big orange caterpillar when we were children - the tiny hairs come off and cause terrible itching! Much wailing and gnashing of teeth.

ReplyDeleteIt's very plump and ready to make a cocoon, if you know what kind of leaf it was eating it would be helpful to find a what kind is. I'v never heard of this rhyme we just have the inch worm one.
ReplyDeleteBoy that is huge. Now you have us all looking at pictures of Caterpillars.
