I've been commissioned to knit a pair of socks. The yarn is a firmly spun 3-ply, bit harsh to the touch, but perfect for socks. The pattern I'm using is called bintje by Jatta Saukko, available as a free download on Ravelry. The original is knee length, but I'm going to make ankle socks. I'm stuck on the blanket until the rain stops because I need some more flower colours, so now is the perfect time to make some progress on the socks.
Looks like a pretty pattern with some lace
ReplyDeleteI have never attempted cable socks and usually only knit plain one's. I have the wool and pattern and really should get on and make some more, this might spur me on. Look forward to seeing these made up.

Wow your the right person for the job, this looks to be a beautiful pattern too😄
ReplyDeleteI do love hand-knit socks, and I keep thinking I'll get back to making them. I don't think I could take on commission work, except from a family member. My family is much more understanding of my flights of fancy and ability to flit from one project to another!
ReplyDeleteWell done on the commission looking great so far
ReplyDeleteLove the look of the design so far! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful color! Why is it perfect for socks? ( I'm such an amateur). The pattern is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt'll show the pattern well and keep its shape. And socks don't necessarily have to be soft.
