Lesson three of the Hardanger Course is a bookmark. It involves the stitches I'll need for my final bookmark, so I'm going to spend some time on it.
I had some difficulty positioning my first blocks on my grid. You count threads, but the needle comes up and down in the holes between the threads. That can boggle the mind a bit! It was fine once I got going. So these are kloster blocks, always worked first.
Looks to me like you are doing wonderful!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI have another Q - how do you begin the cut ? Do you poke a hole with a knitting needle & then snip away ? Or some other method?
ReplyDeleteWill check out the link, too.
I agree with Sue :-)
I'm not expert, you understand, but you put the lower jaw of the scissors under the 4 threads to be cut, check carefully and then bring down the upper jaw! Instructions say to cut all 4 threads at once. I did a very bad job on the second lesson, snipping the embroidery thread, which is completely hopeless!
DeleteIt's not as easy as it looks, I look forward to seeing how you get on. Sorry I am behind with commenting on the blogs.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea what you were talking about until I expanded the picture and saw the grid. I would need a teacher near for this work. Looks good.
