Combination

Edgings 91 and 92 combine tatting and crochet. I'm not sure I did the last row of the top one correctly. The pattern has an arrow to the two-ring motif and say 'attach to edging'. Adding them one by one seems tedious, so I crocheted using a shuttle thread and then did the rings when I came to the right place. What can I say? I"m not really fond of combining tatting and crochet, but it can create different effects.

  1. They are interesting and would "jazz up" a plain skirt or blouse nicely!

  2. It's different, and for someone who can do both it would be easy to combine the both, I will have to think about it not sure if it works or not, both your edging are lovely.

  3. Nice thinking & improvisation on #91 ! I like the shape the rings take there .

  4. I have combined it and use the crochet for a strength for tatting to hang on. I do like what you have done here and would like to incorporate it with a flower petals to make them solid (crochet) and add it like that some day. Great post and remind me of some patterns I have not pursued yet :)

  6. Looks great! Interesting combination of the two techniques, I should try it myself. I think I have some very old books with patterns with tatting and crochet combined

  7. It would seem very tedious to switch between crochet and tatting. The trims look lovely and I like your two colors.
