Spring
1st September is officially the first day of Spring, so it's fitting that our first lamb was born overnight, and the apricot tree is full of blossom. The apricot tree has no leaves yet, of course, I'll have to lend it some of my tatted leaves. These are numbers 66 and 67:
This is my second attempt at 66 and it still doesn't look like the picture in the book, I'm not sure why. These leaves, like several of the others, use pearl tatting, where the middle thread emerges to be used for the leaf outline. Clever.

Nice pictures :) I like these leaves more than previous 2, they look more like leaves to me.
ReplyDeleteOh wow ! Love the pics - spring to happiness :-)
ReplyDeleteI hope you remember the joy in these when you have to can the peaches ;-P
The leaves are both very 'leafy'; nicely tatted !
What a sweet sheepie! - our trees have blossomed as well, in fact they bloomed very early this year because winter happened only on one or two days for a couple of hours - but unlike you, I do not welcome this sight. Spring in Brisbane means the return of STORMS - which I hate.Soon the jacarandas will be in bloom as well, and that signifies the end of the academic year.Exam time for the students.
ReplyDeleteSpring! And a lamb to boot! The apricot tree looks very pretty with just the blossoms.
ReplyDeleteHaven't tatted much shoes seem like miracles to me!
Beautiful Spring! Apricots blossoms and lambs! Sweet!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers!!! :)
ReplyDeleteUnique leaves!! :)
1st of September Spring for you, and Autumn for me
ReplyDeleteYour apricot tree looks lovely, hope you get lots of apricots
What a lovely lamb, one more for your flock.
Have a good spring day
What a sweet little lamb to welcome your beautiful Spring.
ReplyDeleteI really like the use of pearl tatting in these. I recently noticed that we don't have very many leaf tatting patterns on the internet. It's nice to know that there are some books with leaf patterns. Love the seasonal pictures. We are enjoying temps in the 80s here for a few days after weeks and weeks of 90s. It reminds us that fall is not far away.
ReplyDeletewonderful pictures of your life around you:) and I like the leaves the are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat cute little lambs, the summer was over for us yesterday and I am not looking forward to the dark cold weather!
