Day and Night

We went to town yesterday, so at last I could get some more cotton yarn to finish the second baby blanket. Now I'm going to try to be less - what's the word, I want to say monosyllabic, but that's not it - and work on two projects at once, tatting by day and crochet in the evenings. I've finished round two of the Teiko motif, one more round to go. It looks less square than I expected, but perhaps this is the transition and the next round will give the square look.

  1. I rarely tat at night, that's when I knit. Tatting in daylight.

  2. Haven't made that one on cover, but I think that last round should do it and complete that square look :) Baby Blanket looks mostly done that moved fast and is beautiful too.

  3. I love the soft colors you're using in your tatted piece! It looks like you'll finish off that baby blanket in no time!

I try to multi-task. I keep a knit project and a crochet project by my chair. Even though they are closer to me than my tatting, tatting almost always wins out. Maybe I'll try your approach... one in the morning, one in the evening, and I can alternate days that I knit and crochet!

  4. You are a Renaissance woman with all those talents! The doily still looks lovely, I think the next round will make it square, this one is heading that way. 😄

  5. I tat in daylight and knit at night,
That motif is so pretty, and I am sure the baby's blanket will be finished in on time

  6. Hi Jane,
Such pretty pastels for your tatting. Your baby blanket is coming along. Great idea to tat and crochet. I will try harder to tat and do patchwork.

  7. I'm a 'tatting at night' person but it does often become afternoon too. I try other things in the afternoons - particularly in the winter. Don't ask why - I've no idea. Just the way BC3 works.

  9. The Teiko motif is so delicate in those colours.Such a pretty baby blanket. I usually embroider at night, sometimes tat if it's a simple design, or knit in the winter. Of course, I do them all in daytime, too, as well as my other hobbies...... ;-)

  12. Monosyllabic ? Well, you're never monotonous, with your multitudinal aptitude :-D
I keep trying to do that - divide my day into 2 different skill projects, but invariably get deep into one while the other remains neglected :-(
I think your tatting will square out with the next round - looks lovely !!!

    1. Ah, my problem exactly. But I will try again to divide my day and attention!

  13. I can see those large rings on the corners of the square. Sounds like you have your day nicely divided between crafts.
