A Flower

I went to a craft group meeting this morning. We made these organza flowers, which was fun. The edge of each layer is seared with a candle flame, which makes it crinkle. Makes me think that I shouldn't stand too near a fire when wearing the flower as a brooch, or it might completely disappear!

  1. Wow that is beautiful,I bet that was a fun class, I singe the ends of ribbons to keep them from fraying and reminds me how flammable lots of synthetic fabrics are because they are made from petroleum.

  2. I love this! What a pity you aren't closer, I would ask you to make me one to wear to my daughter's wedding - it's the exact tonings of the outfit I am planning.

    1. I'd have made one for you if I was closer. They're pretty easy to make, you should make your own!

  3. :) - I don't have a good track record, Jane, with things like that - long experience has taught me this. I stick to what I can do well, at this stage of my life!
But I can admire and appreciate your flower very much.

    1. I know what you mean - I avoid anything to do with glue or paint at all cost!
