Edging resumed

Thanks to Sharon, of Tatting blog who answered my SOS, I can resume tatting my Fandango Edging without worrying that I'm going to run out of thread. I haven't reached the second corner, so there's a way to go yet.

  4. Hi, Jane,
Aren’t tatters the absolute best? I remember when I ran out and was sent the enough of the thread I needed to finish the hanky and probably had enough for another as well!

I am pleased you received an answer to your S.O.S. Looks terrific so far - great pattern.

    1. Sometimes you read about people copying patterns or whatever and wonder if you should engage with the world? But then something like this makes you realise that there are wonderful people out there and engaging with the world is good!!

    2. Jane, I stay away - far away - when people discuss copyright often not understanding a whit about what they are talking about. (I studied copyright law at law school.)

(Normally would not post this comment but can’t find your email and this is a subject about which I am rabid!)

Some comments, e.g., InTatters, have upset and confused some tatters who were doing nothing wrong but were intimidated, chastised and made to feel very badly by some, who I fear were acting out online as un-informed bullies. I could go on but you do get my drift... : ))

There. You have had my rant on copyright abuse! Probably way too much information!

    3. Glad of your comment, it's a subject that interests me too. I'm not a great believer in protecting copyright, I think the world will not progress if we all have to learn everything from scratch. The thing that doesn't seem right to me is when someone sells a pattern that someone else has put out there for free. I don't suppose that happens very often, but I have heard of it! And then I read that copying tatting from pictures wasn't playing fair, which is something I do periodically. It's not always easy to get the etiquette right!
