A Lot of Error!

I'm trying to turn Anne Bruvold's  flowery triangle into a magic square. There are a lot of scraps and a lot of 'Duh, of course that won't work' moments, but I am making progress. I scribbled the diagram down years ago. Anne didn't provide a pattern but gave permission for her motif to be copied.

    Not sure how you figure these out. Maybe draw the pattern, then draw a line over it to see if you can do it continuously? I like what you have in the photo so far. Such pretty colors. The darker green especially sets off the others.

    This triangle is quite versatile & I remember some experiments on Craftree using it as a motif. I only made the hexagonal coaster.
    It will be so interesting to see you figure out a continuous path !

    Since Anne's triangle is equilateral, it will combine to form a hexagon instead of a square. You could definitely make one hexagon out of it, but I'm unaware of a path for a magic hexagon. (I've tried to find infinite paths with equilateral triangles and hexagons, but no luck. They all seem to reach a dead end after hexagon #3.)

    For a magic square, I've found it best to begin designing with a square. Starting with a triangle would be hard because the squares are built from isosceles right triangles, and I'm not sure how to go about finding or designing one of those.

    If you add two more rings to the center you can convert the triangle into a square, but I don't know if the result will be what you are looking for.

    So pretty and I love the idea. I'd try eliminating the inner trefoil, to square with 4 flowers. But I can't wait to see your next post.
