Produce

Cauliflowers are ripening in Jack's garden, it's time to make piccalilli again. I made a batch last week with a small cauliflower and must now work on this bigger one. The carrots are from the garden too. I'll prepare the vegetables today, cut them and sprinkle them with salt, and then do the cooking tomorrow.

  1. It's nice to be able to preserve produce for a later date. I have re-discovered Giardiniera which has similar veggies in it.

  2. Lovely to see 'real' veggies rather than supermarket ones wrapped in film.

    1. Yes, I like being able to use veges straight from the garden, without the intervention of plastic.

  3. Mmmm fresh veggies from one's own garden! I've never grown cauliflower - I love it and make a yummy cauliflower gratin with it. (Can give you the recipe if you like)
