I've started work on the next set of curtains, four of them. I plan to dye these, so they shouldn't take so very long! It's difficult to measure 2 metres/yards for one curtain. The fabric is 150 cm wide, so I folded the width to meet the length and then just had to measure 50 cm from there.
You've stolen my scissors, Jane!!!!!! Dealing with long lengths of fabric is a nightmare.
ReplyDeleteI love my scissors! Yes, when folk ask me if I want to make curtains for other people, I decline. Smartly.
DeleteI think we need scissor fobs... those look like mine! ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhen we first moved into our house nearly 27 years ago, I had someone come out to give an estimate for window treatments. The estimate was just over $5,000! Mom and I went to a mill end outlet, and I made lace curtains for every room in the house for $100. I still have a set hanging in my bedroom. I wouldn't make them for anyone else, but I am happy to make my own!
Ah, so you know where I’m coming from then!
DeleteI can't wait to see the finished curtains, I know they will be wonderful too!!! :)
ReplyDeleteExcellent tip 💗💕💗 I learned this from my Mom, and have used it for some bed linen.
