Forty Years

Jack and I celebrated our fortieth wedding anniversary yesterday. I learnt to tat just before I was married. I should probably change my profile blurb from 'I learnt to tat 30 years ago' to 'I learnt to tat 40 years ago'. Muskaan pointed out to me that there are posts on my blog that have tutorials that may interest folk, but are difficult to find. I'll put some links up. It's clearly time I did some blog housekeeping!

40 years of togetherness! Congratulations and wishes for many many more to come 🌹🌹🌹🌹
Your blog is a wealth of information - experimentation, application, observation ! Thanks for taking the time. I have already included a few, but will appreciate your blog-housekeeping 😍

  2. A Ruby wedding anniversary is something to celebrate indeed.. John and I marked our own in 2017, it's quite amazing really.
It would be really good to have links to your tutorials, especially if there are any handy hints to make the interlocking rings on the African Doily .I never did finish mine, because I wasn't happy with my trees at the time, even though I made so many, trying to get them looking right.

    1. I've linked to Sue's tutorial of using Self closing mock rings to interlock, I really hope this helps!

  4. Congratulations to you both! Every year with the one you love is worth celebrating, isn’t it?
In about a month, I will be tatting for 41 years. I can remember my great aunt teaching me and my first project (a cross in pale variegated pink, purple, yellow, blue). What was your first piece?

    1. The earliest I remember was edgings for nighties for new baby. Joe was born 11 months after the wedding, so I was still very new to tatting!
