One Bag Full

A shop in town sells seed beads in small, cellophane packets. I wanted to see how far one bag of beads goes. I used a simple pattern that I've used before and used up the whole packet of blue beads. The resulting rope is 33 cm long - too long for a bracelet and too short for a necklace! I can either undo part of it to make a bracelet or make it into a necklace for a little girl. But now I know that for a necklace I would need more than one bag of beads.

  1. That blue and white looks perfect! Sometimes a little experimenting is just what we need. I found my book on crocheting beaded bracelets, and I have the beads. Now all I have to do is find where I put my hooks!

    2. You inspired me as well. Thank you :) I really enjoyed making my first beaded rope. I've tried with cheap beads I had at home. They were very irregular in shape/size (though sold together in the same box!) but I did obtain a rope. Unlike Diane I have the hook, but I need new beads!
Love this pattern very much. Is it available on the web or in print? Or is it yours?

    3. Oh good, well done! I saw a picture on pinterest but when I followed it up there wasn't really a pattern. The threading pattern is 3 blue, 1 white. Circumference of 6. So the whites fall in the centre of each blue stretch. Very easy.

  4. Beautiful! If is to short for necklace , you can fill the rest of space with big beads or combine with another like this: https://www.google.ro/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjq5dru0M7VAhVKVxoKHVCiAZ0QjRwIBw&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.pinterest.com%2Fdsmiv%2Fbead-crochet%2F&psig=AFQjCNGFWHiX0CR5MKSTnJdpJntKFIaWuA&ust=1502521983833388 or cut in half and make 2 bracelets https://www.google.ro/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=imgres&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjWyYWq0c7VAhVIDxoKHeNdAw4QjRwIBw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.beadseast.com%2Ftubular-bead-crochet-tutorial-and-designs%2F&psig=AFQjCNHR0KHttn-qNihpa4Vmmpt3vTMSLw&ust=1502522151034328

  5. At least it's not wasted you learned how far a bag will go, now you can work on knowing how many you need for a project. Lovely pattern whatever you turn it into.
