I read an article the other day giving hints for selling crocheted items at fairs or markets. One of the suggestions was that it's a mistake to just have one of everything because people often ask if you have the same thing in a different size or colour. I think it's a valid point, even though it's impossible to predict what visitors to a market will ask for!
These are gorgeous and I'm sure they will be a hit 👍👍👍
ReplyDeleteThat’s what I’ve found on the rare occasions I do a market. The trick is to take a notebook with you and offer to do custom orders. It makes you look as if you’ve got a thriving business!!! I had a lovely lady once who was prepared to pay a good price for two beaded motifs (in rings) and I kept her informed of progress throughout. I’d only got one on the stand and she wanted identical ones for twin grandkids.
ReplyDeleteYou’re right, I could always answer - no, but I’ll make you one.
DeleteThey're beautiful! I admire people who can take orders for crafted items. I lose interest when I have something that has to be done, and it usually takes me two to three times longer to make it. I much prefer making things that I'm inspired to finish.
ReplyDeleteIt can take away the shine if the order is not something you feel like doing!
DeleteGreat bracelets!! :)
ReplyDeleteYou must be able to make these with your eyes shut now, lol, they are gorgeous.

I used to get very energized by putting my tatting out there for people to purchase. Now, I just get tired thinking about how much work it all is for the little bit of money. If you figure out how to keep your energy up, please share!
ReplyDeleteI’ll let you know after the markets reopen!
