The mango tree outside the kitchen had become a bit overwhelming. Jack attacked it single handed and reduced it to a shadow of its former self. He had threatened to cut the tree down, so I suppose the severe 'trim' is one up on that. He picked a lot of mangoes before he started chopping, so I was able to make mango chutney:
The jars behind the chutney contain pickled onions.
It's a shame to see such a beautiful tree come down, but sometimes it must be done. I love mangoes, but I have to be careful when handling them. Daughter Joanne and I tend to break out in a rash from them, something to do with the oils in the skin.
ReplyDeleteOh no, I definitely don’t like mangoes enough to risk coming out in a rash!
DeleteSo Jack is taking to retirement by taking down trees? I could use him over here!!
ReplyDeletePoor tree, but if had became to big then it had it have the chop, I hope it recovers and gives you more mango's for more chutney.
ReplyDeleteOh Jane I wish you lived nearer then I could make some mango chutney I love it with curries.
