Pinned

Some time ago, I pinned this page  from Georgia Seitz with a beaded chain in pearl tatting. Ever since then I've been receiving notifications that other people have also pinned it. I get way more such notifications for this pin that any other in my collection. Though I have to say I haven't seen anyone use it. I've been meaning for some time to try it out.

First I had to remind myself how to do pearl tatting, I had a look at Jane Eborall's page . Oh yes, I remember now. I just used thread left on shuttles and beads that were handy:

The middle one uses the stitch count in the pattern. The one on the left has fewer stitches. I quite liked the look of that, so I worked it again with smaller beads. It's simple enough and there are a lot of possibilities for changing the stitch count, number and size of beads, and so on. It could be a lanyard or even a bracelet. The reverse of the third one looks quite interesting too:

  2. I do feel I totally forget some tatting forms too.
And I too have a blog post that also gets tons of hits and wonder if is in the title words and that's just what the general public was trying to look for, and happens to be a search for something else. 🤔

  3. I keep getting notifications that people have saved my " pins" too! - but as far as I'm aware I have never set up my own page on Pinterest! I suppose I must be pressing the wrong buttons somehow. Your pearl tatting looks very effective, especially with the beads- bracelets for grandchildren?

    1. That’s a bit strange! They’ve got your number (whether you like it or not)

  4. Go AWAY, Jane. Stop tempting me into trying something else when I’ve got other things that need to be finished first!!! I love ‘lazy’ pearl tatting just because it’s so - well, lazy!

  6. Welcome to the bot world! A person may have created the bot, but the reality is a machine is picking up on words or images in the pins or post. Moral of the story: The best antivirus is your own fingers on the mouse.....just don't click!
Oh, and if you want to help a bot relearn and not mistake tattoes for tatting, report occurances to the apropriate address....just be aware, you'll get picked up by those bots!
