I crocheted a border around the little blanket to finish it off. I did the border before I sewed the ends in, to avoid pulling out the ends as I picked up stitches along the edge:
That's before, here's after:
Why did I sew the ends in all at once? Well, I only had to find my needle and scissors once and make one trip to the dustbin!
Looks lovely and sewing in all those ends, phew that was a marathon job

I love the border! I understand why you crocheted on the edge before weaving in the ends, something I never would have thought of doing.
ReplyDeleteWow that looks marvelous. The cream edge really finishes it beautifully!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant maneuver on the ends!! Gorgeous blanket. Lucky little character who gets to be wrapped in it!! It'll bring out his sunny side!

So, so pretty. Love it to bits.
ReplyDeleteIt's adorable. Nice maneuver with the ends. Unfortunately I can put off the sewing part a long time if there is a lot to do.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty !!! Perfect gift .
ReplyDeleteAnd you made the tails disappear :-) Actually I find hiding ends in crochet & knitting is pretty easy (with some nuisance value though), unlike tatting.
I agree. With tatting I usually sew in ends as I go.
