I took Annika's cardigan to town yesterday and bought some things to put with it - a Dr Seuss book called Mr Brown can Moo, some flower stickers and chocolate coins, plus a cute birthday card. I parcelled it all up and took it to the Post Office to send on its way. Nope. The lady behind the counter wouldn't take it. She says the Post Office has 'transport problems' and she doesn't know when they will be over. Whether the transport problems apply nationally or only to our town, I have no idea. I went across the road to a private postal company, but the amount they wanted for the job was way more than the contents of the parcel are worth. I brought the parcel back home and just hope the Post Office will sort out its problems before Annika grows out of the cardigan!
Oh, dear! I hope they resolve their problems quickly!
ReplyDeleteHow frustrated you must have felt with the post office, I am sure that the problem will soon be sorted and the lovely cardigan will reach your granddaughter.
ReplyDeleteOh, how sad! I will remember to be grateful today when I go to the post office and there is a line. At least I know they'lll take may packages.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Maybe you can find a friend that is going that way to get it closer to her. So far have listen to news and nothing like that here yet. Sometimes there are threats at the post office and they let no one go to the office, I just go to a different one. that is weird hopefully it will just last a day or two!
ReplyDeleteBest to wait, you don't want the same fate as the socks. Sometimes my family and friends deliver parcels for me, its worth a shot if you have a facebook page to reach out. People are always travelling.
ReplyDeleteThat just doesn't seem fair, any which way !
ReplyDeleteI hope they sort your postal problems out soon and the cardigan can be winging its way to her

That's terrible - but the little cardigan looks as though it will fit for a year or two, it's a style that can be worn a little shorter - and you did make it longer than the pattern said. Keep it safely with you until you can trust the Postal people again.
