Do you know that feeling when you only have one more ring and chain to tat and the bobbin thread is almost finished? I really should have wound more thread on the shuttle, but instead I finger tatted the last ring and then rejoined the shuttle for the last chain. I was left with just a few centimetres of thread, but I made it:

ReplyDeleteIt took me years to be able to finger tat. I just couldn't figure it out. Now that I know how to do it, I find myself frequently using up that last bit of thread.
No, probably not, I don’t have a good spot for it. Useful to be able to use the last thread, though it’s time consuming.
ReplyDeleteThat is weird that is what happened to me I could have put more on the shuttle to start with. I feel like I had much left over on the last round so I just didn't keep winding :)

ReplyDeleteKnow that feeling !!! I, too, finger tat, or add some scrap leader thread and wind it all on the shuttle. Or I work it as a scmr.
