I had some rather chunky handspun wool in my stash. I dyed a few skeins of it black and combined it with the
sari yarn. I'm really pleased with the result. The bias stripes show better, the fabric drapes better and I could make a long scarf. Rereading the pattern, I see I haven't followed it correctly. So I'll say that the scarf is based on mona's little bias scarf from stashbuster knits by Melissa Leapman.
The two do work well together!
ReplyDeleteThe black yarn beautifully accentuates the sari yarn!
ReplyDeleteBlack does bring out the multiple shades ! Love the texture & bias knitting :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is really beautiful! You are so creative.
ReplyDeleteYes I love these colors and the chunky too. And the short scarfs look great with those Scottish pins not sure if that is correct name for them. If I didn't wish you a happy New Year I am now from Carollyn

ReplyDeleteI would never have thought to do this. Looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! The black yarn contrasted really well with the rainbow coloured yarn :).
