I'm sometimes a little sceptical when tatters say a later round will counteract ruffling. But in this case it was so. The motif was a contorted mess after the second round, but the outer round sorted it out. It did need blocking, but not the bullying into shape that I thought it might. In the book, all the 'flowers' are blue, but I thought that since I have to make them separately, I could make each one different. I like the rainbow look.
I also like the rainbow look! I'm glad it sorted itself out without major issues.
ReplyDeleteI remember thinking that a couple of motifs in this book were not going to straighten out. You are so right, and this is very pretty. At first glance I thought you just use a variegated thread and it turned out beautiful by accident :)
