Dot Picots

I was a bit dubious when I first read about Usha's invention,  dot picots, because it involves frequently having to swap shuttles. But in practice it's easy enough to swap shuttles and it's very effective. A dot picot is a 'ring' with just one double stitch, made with the second shuttle. It creates an interesting textured look. I like muskaan's  working of Usha's pattern, where the beads echo the dot picots.

  1. I* think this idea would be very effective in two colours - I wonder how that would work?

    1. You could have the rings and chains in different colours. Have to do a lot of SLT to get chain and dots in different colours, but it could be possible. Hmmm.

  2. I love it! Texture is one of the things I love about knitting so having this option is great!

  3. Nicely done :-))) Besides texture (which I love), to me the advantage of using these in place of beads is truly great

  4. I tried making dot picots a few weeks ago, and they were a lot easier than anticipated. It will be interesting to see their use in future tatting designs.
