I've done this month's bags for Anne, the silversmith, 15 small bags and 15 tiny bags. A lot of folk say, or imply, that making the bags is a rather boring job. Granted, it's not the most exciting or creative task, but I enjoy the methodical nature of it. I put on the radio or a podcast and listen while I work.
It's just as well I enjoy the job, because I've just agreed to make bags for someone else. Watch this space.
Not boring at all! When my two oldest girls were headed off to college, I was on a streak making very simple pillowcases. They were very popular with friends and family, and for years I heard about how wonderful those pillowcases were. You are so right. There's something very soothing about the methodical nature of a repeated task.
ReplyDeleteThanks for that back up!
DeleteI think 'boring' is a state of mind at the time. For instance I totally dislike back stitch but for the last few weeks I have been hand-sewing - backstitching and hemming 2-year old pending projects and it is very relaxing. I don't even miss tatting!
ReplyDeleteGood point.
DeleteBoring is in the mind of the beholder. ;)
ReplyDeleteI think you do great work!! :)
