I complicated my life further by adding beads to the pearl tatting. I did the butterfly in two halves and then joined them onto the body. I was a bit worried about having a lot of ends to hide in the body, but here's how I solved that problem: two shuttles wound CTM, the centre thread doubled over in the middle, so when I got to the end, I had four threads and could do two lock stitch chains for antennae. No threads at all to sew in!
Very pretty. How many beads did you use?
ReplyDeleteDid the jumper that you knitted win the competition?
60 beads on the outside, 44 on the inside and 14 on the body. The judging of the jumper will take a while. I delivered it to the local meeting and then it was sent to the national competition.
DeleteYou are clever, and that butterfly looks great.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like an awful lot of work! Your butterfly looks very cool with the beads. I'm not sure I have that much fortitude! ;-)
ReplyDeletethat looks good Jane. I think those wings look even better with the body to hold them just a bit apart. I like this version very much
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes, I think it's less overcrowded than the other one.
DeleteCute!! :)
