The Last of the Wool
This is the last batch of the wool I was given to spin. Lovely soft, clean wool, a pleasure to spin. I don't have time to wash and dye it today, it'll have to wait until tomorrow.
Orsi, my spinning wheel has two ratios, a high ratio and a lower one. When I spin for socks, say, I spin on the high ratio, so that it is very twisted. But this is for a scarf, so I spun it on the lower ratio to keep it soft and cuddly. You're right, it's not as durable, but for a scarf I think it's better.
How can you spin it so loose? I don't know better word. Mine is always such highly twisted, otherwise the wool tears.
ReplyDeleteI love this consistence.
