Bold
I used a 4-ply cotton knitting yarn to try out the 'dangle' technique I've just learnt. I like the idea of using different thicknesses of thread to tat with - tatting needn't necessarily be dainty.
No I agree tatting does not have to be dainty, it can be anything we like, I like this idea of hanging beads. Looks very American Indian sort of necklace to me and well done on mastering something new. Margaret

Briony, this is the same technique I was experimenting with yesterday, that I learnt on In Tatters.
DeleteThose are really nice Jane. No you don't need to make tatting dainty. The technique works in many different mediums.
