Butterflies Tethered

Edging 99 is essentially the same as 98, with an extra row added to join them together. It's my least favourite of the butterfly edgings. In any case, it's the last edging in the book.  Only one more (largeish) motif or doily to tat I'll have completed my self-imposed challenge!

  1. The butterflies are pretty, even so, but I don't really like the way the antennae are joined to the chain - I suppose, though, that making them shorter wouldn't work for the design.

  2. I agree.
And wow, you've been so disciplined and persevered with your self-imposed challenge, finishing faster than all of us in the snowflake challenge ! And we have only 24 to tat - you've done such an amazing range !!!

  3. Agree with Maureen about the antennae joined to the chain, but how fantastic that you have not only stuck to your challenge but completed it. How many of us buy a tatting book and just work a couple of chosen patterns and then put it on the bookshelf, never to see the light of day for months even years? Well done have enjoyed seeing the results of your labours.

  6. Interesting effect. It almost looks like a net over the butterflies.

  7. I, too, am impressed with how quickly you are moving along with your challenge. You've really inspired me to seriously consider challenging myself to do the same with some of my books. The Craftree 24 Snowflakes in Tatting challenge is the first time I've even attempted to do such a thing, but it really feels good to be working toward such a goal. I've got a number of books that are truly worth the challenge. I'm getting much more from watching your progress through this book than the enjoyment of your work and the appreciation of the contents of a book I don't own. Thank you!
