Round One

It does lie flat, hooray. The bare threads could've been a bit shorter, but I'm pretty happy with it. I thought I was going to have to join in more multicolour thread, but no, I made it with 12 cm thread left on the shuttle!

  2. That's so pretty Jane, the threads look very delicate. What is the thread please? Thanks for showing.

  3. That's the only word I can think of to describe it as well - pretty - it's really pretty!
I don't really like patterns with bare threads, but this one is going to be so lovely that I wil just enjoy it.

  4. The multicolour thread is Milford ombre pastel; the white is Anchor Artiste and the 'dusty pink' is Cebelia that I dyed myself. All size 20.

  7. I love this pattern you did a great job and is one of the most interesting to make I too feel she could have given some sort of measurement for the bare thread instead of making us guess but I too will make this again someday :)

  11. Lovely tatting and design.
You could work the bare thread to be part of the design. What I am thinking is, block the piece and shape the bare into curves, alternating up and down. If you stiffen them a bit, the bare thread portion should hold their respective shapes.
