Square

This was quite a tricky pattern and I should probably do it again to get it 'just right'. One puzzling thing about the chart was the arrow giving the starting point for round 3 - surely if you start with a ring on a chain the tension of the chain will be broken?
I started instead with an outward-facing ring, yellow in my version, red in the chart.

  1. Pretty motif. I agree about the tension issue, but maybe, is it an indication to climb up without cutting the trhead?

  3. It's a pretty motif. I know I'd be confused about the starting point.

  4. That does seem an odd place to start a round. The pattern is very pretty, you have done a nice job with it.

  5. This is what I love about pictures and visual patterns. It makes it so much easier to rethink where you would like to start tatting. It's a bit harder with textual patterns, except that I usually draw up a quick sketch anyway.

  6. Good point ! Probably better to start with one of the floating rings pair.
The motif is lovely, especially in the colours you have chosen & placed .
