Flowery

Motif 33 is done in one colour in the book, but I decided to use colour to emphasise the flowery look. Both threads are Milford size 20. It took me a second to realise you can't have bare threads when you work with two shuttles! So I had to use chains instead of bare thread in the first round. Tatting went smoothly and I like the way the motif has turned out. It measures about 12 cm across.

  1. The flowers are definitely spotlighted! I've never used Milford thread. Is it readily available where you live? I'm not in need of any thread, but I'm always interested in learning about ones I haven't tried!

    1. It's available in Australia where my daughter lives. I bought these threads when I visited her in March. It's a tightly wound thread, good for tatting. There seem to be more colours available now too.

  5. It's beautiful. Nice use of color to emphasize the flowers, and that shade of green is 'just right' as foliage.

The chains worked very nicely in the pattern , but in case you are interested in future, Ninetta & I have done 2-colour bare thread tatting :-)
