Fluff

One of the reasons I didn't tat for years when I was immersed in spinning and knitting was fluff. When you convert this
to this
you generate fluff. Wool is  not quite as bad as mohair, but even so I find fluff on my clothes, my furniture, my sandwiches.... And my tatting thread. I've been tatting by day and spinning during the evenings, which is wonderful, but if I'm going to do that I have to accept that my dragons are probably fluffier than dragons should be!

  1. It seems like magic to me - spinning your own yarn. I've watched it being done, but have no idea what is happening when the wheel spins. Tatting during the day for an hour or so is what I am doing too - because I am working on a lacy baby shawl which will probably take longer to make than I have months left! So that is what is taking most of my time at present.

  2. It sounds like you have the perfect day. I think spinning your own wool is a dying art these days so good on you for keeping it going!

    1. I think it's a bit like tatting - not quite as dead as appears at first glance!

  3. It does look like fun, if I knew how and had the stuff I would be doing that too. I guess I would keep all the thread the same color ha ha not really :) I didn't see any in the pictures.
