Dragonflies Have Landed

My inverted tatting dragonflies and waterlily have lurked in my tatting tin for quite a while, but I have now made an organza 'pond' for them - really a food cover. I've agreed to take part in a Christmas bazaar next month, I  need to get things made to put on my table for sale.

  2. That can be a problem with tatting so much and not being able to find a use for all your work, so it is great to see the dragonflies etc have found their way to a 'pond'! Ah Christmas bazaar is also on my agenda for next month - good luck!

  3. Oh love the cover, looks like your wonderful dragonfly's found a great home, It's funny though our summer just started to leave with my humming birds, and I need to take the feed in and clean it for next year. Hard to imagine you need to cover food from bugs.

  4. Oh, how lovely! I'm quite curious to see your food covers in action. Are they held up off the food with any sort of frame?

    2. Thanks, Jane! Food covers in this part of the world (South East Asia) are somewhat different – the netting is stretched over frames and permanently attached to them. The frames may or may not be collapsible.

    3. I have seen those. We recently stayed in a bed-and-breakfast place where there was one covered with crochet, really lovely. The advantage of the other kind is their simplicity. Easy to store, easy to send, easy to use.

    4. That's true. I think we have the frames over here because the food covers are often used over hot food, to let it cool before eating. So it's a sightly different use.
